Little Local is a multi-use venue and new kid on the Broome block. Noting a need for a small to mid sized venue of this kind, owner Taja Coles-Berenyi is excited to open the doors of this relaxed and refined space. Driven by creativity, community and an appreciation for excellent food and coffee culture, Taja brings her artists’ eye to the the venue. Herself an award winning photographer, she wanted to provide somewhere warm and welcoming, where natural finishes and overflowing veggie patch meet a clean and ready for curation gallery space.
The culmination of Taja’s various adventures in everything from food production, weaving and jewellery stall holder, travelling rock photographer, music project manager and interior design – Little Local promises to be a hub of (and for) creativity. Raised on a make it, bake it, sew it, grow it ethos, this is a space that reflects Taja’s detailed and delicate approach to holding space.
“My hope for the venue is to see it filled with the best things in life; art, music, food, friends and good times..” says Taja. “I want it to feel like locals have a place that’s really theirs, where they can pop in, just like having a beer in a friends lounge-room”
Not only good for an intimate hang, Little Local can scale to perfectly hold a 100 person strong gathering, becoming a buzzing bar / music / event space.
“There’s nothing like having a venue you know you can feel comfortable in and rely on for a certain mood.. I thought, why don’t I create the venue I want to go to..?” A place to meet, celebrate, be stimulated and connect under the much loved magic of the Kimberley sky, Little Local is here.
